Loving Annabelle
Year:
2006
Country:
USA
Director:
Katherine Brooks
Starring:
Diane Gaidry, Erin Kelly
Synopsis:
A spoiled and rebellious teen shows up at Catholic boarding school for one last chance at staying out of trouble. She falls for her literature teacher and house mother, Miss Bradley.
Quick review:
Annabelle is the daughter of a U.S. Senator and has a habit of getting into trouble. To try and put an end to that, her parents ship her off to a private boarding school with a warning that this is her last chance to get her life in order. It doesn't take long to figure out Annabelle has no intention of behaving. She's warned that wearing Buddhist beads at a proper Catholic school is forbidden, and that she must remove them. She refuses and is penalized for it. She finally confides that the beads were a gift from the first person she fell in love with. Soon, she's flirting with Miss Bradley, her poetry teacher and the person acting as her guardian at the school. Of course the teacher resists, even though there is an attraction there. She knows her role and is determined to play them. But Annabelle excels at pushing people out of those roles and embracing life. The film is a little cliche and you are not surprised by any of the plot twists. But the two leads are gorgeous and have a lot of chemistry. So all you lesbians who had fantasies involving Catholic school girls (seriously, isn't that just straight men?), this is definitely the film for you.
