Synopsis: A transgender woman has a not-so-small problem: She's got 20 centimeters dangling between her legs and she is desperate to get rid of it -- if only she can stay awake.
Quick review: Marieta is a narcoleptic, transgender prostitute who is trying to save up enough cash to have an operation and remove the 20 centimeters (just under 8 inches) she's packing between her legs. But falling asleep at the most inconvienent times does have its drawbacks. She often awakes face down in an empty field with her cash stolen and her anus aching. What keeps her going are the musicals she plays out in her head when she's sleeping. Her life may be crap, but in her mind she's the star of a Hollywood musical, singing and dancing her way through a happy life. Marieta is not the only bizarre character in this film: There's the height-challenged roommate with dreams of being something better; a neighbor who often dumps her child on Marieta while she conducts mysterious business; and most eye-pleasing of all, Tom�s, a hunky man who delivers vegetables at the local market. Pablo Puyol plays Tom�s and even has a full frontal nude scene in the film. He's worth the price of renting the film alone. As he an Marieta become more involved, it becomes obvious that Tom�s would prefer that Marieta stay as she is, a woman with some male parts. He does not want to see the 20 centimeters go. Marieta faces a choice: Does she cut it off and become the woman she is, or does she keep it to make the man she has fallen for happy? This is a campy Spanish film with just enough craziness thrown in to make it fun.
