All Over Me

Synopsis: This lesbian coming-of-age drama focuses on two friends growing up in New York's Hell's Kitchen area. One girl is straight, but doesn't mind flirting with girls. The other just wants someone to love.
Quick review: Claude and Ellen are best friends coming of age in Hell's Kitchen. Ellen uses Claude as an excuse to spend time with her boyfriend, and often spends the night in Claude's small bed. The two girls do some physical contact, and kissing, but it's not quite the lesbian affair Claude longs for. A new neighbor moves into Claude's building and they soon learn that he's a gay man. One night, after a confrontation with Ellen's boyfriend, the gay neighbor is killed. Claude begins to suspect she knows who killed him. But what should she do? Turning in Ellen's boyfriend would kill any chance for love she wants with her best friend. And what is the deal with Ellen? Is she straight, or gay? It's hard to tell. But a new woman enters Claude's life and her choices become a bit clearer. This is not a bad lesbian coming-of-age film, but the genre is getting a bit crowded. Gay actor Wilson Cruz gets a supporting role and looks very young in this film.
