Best Way to Walk, The

Synopsis: The relationship between two male teachers at a boys boarding school changes after one catches the other wearing women's clothes.
Quick review: Marc teaches sports at an all-boys boarding school. His students and the toughest and the meanest. Philippe teaches music and drama at the same school. His students are the nerds everyone typically picks on at schools for boys of this age. It's a lonely job and the teachers try to bond despite their differences. That is, until Marc walks into Philippe's room unexpectantly and catches him in women's clothes. At first, he pretends he didn't see anything. But Philippe's uneasiness at having this secret known demands a confrontation. It's a complicated look at male friendships, especially for this time period. Yes, there are plenty of stereotypes. It would have been more interesting if it was the music teacher who caught the sports jock dressing in drag, but that's just me. The ending becomes a little crazy when Philippe brings a woman into the picture. But this film is way ahead of where most gay cinema was in the 1970s.
