Bend It Like Beckham

Synopsis: Two soccer players become such good friends that their parents worry they are lesbians. At least, until they both develop an interest in their soccer coach.
Quick review: I had an internal debate if I should include this film, though I like it a lot. The gay angles: They're mistaken for lesbians and they have a gay best friend. That's it. It's a fun movie to watch and youﾹd be hard-pressed to find many better dealing with clashes of culture. Jess's Indian family lives in England and tries to maintain ties to their culture. Jess' parents don't understand her love of soccer nor her new friendship with Juliette. Jess must balance her family obligations with her love of soccer and her interest in her coach, Joe.
